The Female Line - August Event

We are very excited to be running this, our first online Female Line event, and hope that it enables even more women in the creative sector to join from outside of Cardiff.

The Female Line is a space to meet other women in the creative sector, connect, share and be inspired by guest speakers. Hosted by Her Mark and Cardiff MADE, The Female Line is a welcoming event held monthly.

Joining us for August's event is artist and guest speaker, Grace Kress.

Grace is a community artist, activist and zine-maker from Hackney. She uses art to connect communities and inspire positive social change. Influenced by Emory Douglas, Sylvia Pankhurst and Frida Kahlo, she produces work at the forefront of revolutionary movements. Her ability to translate complex political issues into easily digestible graphics, as well as her use of brightly coloured illustrations and patterned typographic pieces help to imagine a world beyond binaries and bars. Combining traditional techniques such as DIY zine-making, printmaking and signwriting with innovative creative technology her work aims to increase accessibility and inclusion, bridging the physical and digital. She is the founder of Shelby x Studios; a creative space for activists, which has independently published over 30 zines. She works with community groups and organisations to create publications that capture lived experiences, document projects and showcase events.
